ALTCFM HISTORY
The Association for Long-Term Care Financial Managers (ALTCFM) is a
voluntary membership association of individuals within the long term health care
industry. Individuals eligible for membership include any person who demonstrates
an interest in long-term care financial management including without limitation,
facility administrators, financial officers, accountants and bookkeepers as well as
government officials, attorneys, consultants and bankers.
MEMBER BENEFITS
EDUCATION
As change continues to remodel our industry, whether it be from State legislation,
Federal legislation or that of a managed care concept, the ALTCFM strives to bring
pertinent educational seminars and training sessions to our membership. Our Program
and Bookkeeping Training Committees are dedicated to covering the industry's
cutting-edge topics and providing the most knowledgeable speakers.
NETWORKING
The concept most prevalent in the 90's has been based on "alliances." The ALTCFM
provides a forum for our members to interact and share ideas and experiences. We
provide social functions such as the annual golf outing, the holiday breakfast and
networking opportunities before our membership meetings. All members also receive
a membership directory for networking purposes.
INFORMATION
ALTCFM members receive the bimonthly state newsletter which is devoted to news,
education and information in the long-term care financial management industry. ALTCFM
also publishes an annual Membership Directory. Each member of the ALTCFM is listed
in and receives the directory each year. Members receive all mailings in regard to
meetings, special events, legislative alerts and changes to the law that affect long-term
care financial managers.
LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
We encourage your participation in the shaping of our direction - our future and yours.
Some ways members participate within the association are by volunteering for a board
position or with one of eight committees.
RETURN ON YOUR INVESTMENT
The savings you receive in the form of discounts towards admission to educational
meetings, conferences and dinners more than covers the cost of membership. Once
you are a member, you will be continually networking between, sharing resources with,
and gaining information from other members across the region.
If you are interested in becoming a member, visit our Membership Page
for fees and an application.
